Here's our first look at Halo Infinite's visible world campaign in over a year
I've been optimistic about how best Halo Infinite feels to play in technical tests. Hell, I even likened it to Titanfall 3 subsequently spending a weekend wrestle around its brilliant big team battles. But the absence of any campaign footage since 2019 has been worrying—an absence that 343 Industries thankfully remedied with a fresh new gameplay trailer this good afternoon.
Where our first glimpse of Halo Infinite's campaign gave us a straight run through a single mission, today's overview provided a, well, overview of how this open-ended Halo testament exhaust. To that close we do, in fact, see plenty of yawning-domain trappings, with Chief approaching Banished (a new, hot Covenant that comes with a bright red makeover) bases and blowing them the hell up with skyrocket launches, grenades and thrown explosive barrels.
Atomic number 3 someone World Health Organization's adored their time with the multiplayer fights, it's exciting to see that cookie-cutter sandpile applied to traditional Halo baddies like Jackals and Hunters. But there are some to a lesser extent traditional Doughnut elements, including bosses with full-on wellness bars, and vehicle stations that let you literally pluck Wasps and Warthogs from the pitch.
A peek at the world mapping as wel shows us collectables and side missions (like the aforementioned outpost assault), piece thither are also upgrade trees to add up more charges to equipment like grappling meat hooks and repulsors. It also appears you'll possess a "Spartan-killing" Elite stalking you throughout the campaign—and for as much American Samoa Infinite wants to impress on the far side 343's past games, the studio apartment couldn't resist delivery back some past Forerunner-connected aliens.
It's that in conclusion disunite, plus the game's narrative centring on a new, terribly naïve AI named "The Artillery" (effectively a younger, less confident Cortana) that has Maine a little attentive about the focal point Infinite's campaign May be taking.
But while IT's very easy to stool Out-of-the-way Cry Halo comparisons with this more assailable format, information technology does still look like in that location's plenty of space to monkey around and pull of daft stunts with Infinite's farcical toolset. Information technology's just a shame you won't be able to wheel through Zeta Halo with a friend when Halo Infinite launches on December 8.
